Default Anyone ever used Royal Purple in their Engine?

I recently put Royal Purple 5w30 in my compact-car, and i'm really happy with the results. (Not to mention that my mpg jumped almost 15%).

Has anyone ran this stuff in their Disco before?

Just in general Royal Purple is a good oil but over priced. For that money buy the best, redline, or use mobil 1 5w40 TDT and get an equal if not better oil for a lot less (shop the mobil 1 sales at advanced or autozone).

No way in hell I will pay $10 for a quart of oil, that would be $70 just is oil alone for my truck.
Shell Rotella now and forever. ($12 for a gallon)

Thanks for the advice everyone! I found RP for $6 a quart, but hell, if I can get Rotella for $12 a GALLON, that's a no-brainer!

Haha, i put RP in my disco for sh*&s, my friend had 4 extra quarts of 5w30, so i bought a few more and put it in. I had a light engine tick at start up that went away when warm, that has seemed to go away or at least lessen. Other than that, no major difference. MPG seems to be a few better.

Over 3000 miles you use 250 gallons of gas at 12MPG, at 14mpg, you only use 214. Times that by 3 dollars a gallon and by saving 36 gallons you are saving 108 dollars. So if you believe that RP can even save you 2mpg, you will actually save money even if it is 10 per quart. If you dont believe that it saves MPG, then i suppose you wont be convinced.

That is a great way to put it, however for me to drop $80 (7 qts x$10+$5 per oil filter+tax) per oil change is not going to happen.
I just cannot afford that.
Even if it were to save me $28.
