Default Flashing odometer

I am looking to purchase a land rover discovery and I found a 2000 series II HSE. The only issue is that it has a flashing odometer. Any input on cost and repair for something like this?

If there were any other issues like flashing M & S lights, I would say weak battery. But if just the odometer is flashing, either the BCM is bad or he changed the instrument panel and didn't get it reprogrammed. If the BCM is bad, you can get a used one on ebay and have the dealer program it. I think they charge $200 to program, but I'm not positive.

The odometer and the body control unit do not match for miles.
Walk away from this one, he may have replaced the OD to hide a excessive amount of miles.
If you are really interested in this truck then tell him he needs to take it to the dealer to have the BCU and the OD matched up so you can verify the miles.
If the miles match you will pay for half of the trip to the dealer, if they do not match you will walk.
