RE: fluid type?

Tranny-Dexron IID
Transfer case and both diffs 85w-140
Any trans filter kit.
Any good brand oil filter.
The t-case has a drain and fill plug, drain plug on the bottom and fill plug is 3/4 of the way up, on the back of the t-case next to the parking brake drum.
Buy a cheap fluid hand pump, it will make refilling your diffs, t-case and tranny easier.
Any major brand of full synthetic will do, you will need 2qts for each diff and 3 for the t-case.

Ditto except for 75W90 in both the diffs and transfer case (Montana winters). Any reputable synthetic that happens to be on sale. 1.8qts in the diffs, 2.2 qts in the T-case. The diffs have magnets in the drain plugs that need to be wiped clean with a paper towel.

Some of the things Rover thought of makes you wonder why all cars don't have them. Magnetic drain plugs - GENIUS!! Such a simple thing that other car companies never even think about.

My Montero had them.
The import companies think about this stuff, drain/fill plugs on the diffs, the domestics you need to remove the cover to the diff, what a PIA.
