Front Rotor Min Thickness 13= ??
Front rotor min thickness is stamped 13. I assume that's mm, right? It doesn't specify and the rotor looks good (other than being warped) it doesn't appear that it has been turned, but it's possible...
Thanks, Mark G |

You can't turn Rover rotors, because they are too thin and the alloy is too soft.
If your brakes are not shaking under hard stops, the rotors are probably fine for one more set of pads. |

Ok, thanks for the info. I suspected they couldn't be turned at this point. The front L. rotor is warped about .005" or .006".Other is ok. I'll replace both fronts (just did the rears). Thanks Mike,

RE: Front Rotor Min Thickness 13= ??
Mike,
Another question for you. I saw you posted that Rover rotors can't be turned, I just took my in for the state inspection and they said my pads are 85% worn and that they could change my pads and rotors. From what you posted above, I don't think the rotors need changed, it seems to be running fine, so I think I am going to just change the pads. What do you think? |
RE: Front Rotor Min Thickness 13= ??
If the rotors don't have any deep grooves in them or other signs of damage, changing the pads is generally adequate. I've done this with all of my cars over the years.

Appreciate the feedback Dave, I am going to take a look at them.
