Mine doesn't totally die, but on occasion it takes a while (like 10 miles) to get to full after being filled. Not always though. Is it doing that, or just totally flat lined? If flat lined, than the write up Spike posted looks great. If not and it is like mine, I would love to hear ideas on what that is. Looking through the Rave I didn't see anything easy it could be. I don't sweat it though as it always gets to full and is accurate otherwise, plus I go by mileage too.

Have you tried some Chevron Techron? It's rumored to unstick sticking fuel sensors.

Also check the wiring which leads to the fuel pump. Found out most of the wires in that particular harness were damaged, some down to just a few copper strands left. After making the repair, I haven't had any issues - I was getting the empty/fuel light, then the needle would go completely full... neither of which were true.

It will be either the sender or the gauge, most commonily the sender. Do you have a OHM meter and know how to use it, if so, check a Rave manual for the testing procedure for the sending unit and the readings you should expect to see.
As for using an additive, good for the engine but it won't do anything for the sending unit.

Check this site for additional TSB(s); scroll to the bottom right to find LR and enter your make/year: TSB Technical Service Bulletins

Yeah, in the stickies there is a list for the D2 TSB's and a lot of other cool documents too, but that site you posted has every manufacturer too, it seems.

Discovery fuel gage

So I just bought a 2016 discovery sport for my wife with 11,000 miles . Worst purchase I have ever made. The gas gage doesn’t work, I’m told it needs a new sending unit, there are two and one is part of the fuel pump. About $2000 repair and I’m told the car is out of warranty by a matter of weeks. I have owned several Jaguars, this is the first and last Land Rover and now that I find Jaguar and Land Rover are the same company Jags are off my list too. Trading this pile of junk in . Take my loss and run !
