Default Flushing rad system

Having some trouble locating the rad drain on my 1999 disco. I want to flush the system this evening. Any help is much appreciated.

What most people on this forum including me do is simply disconnect the lower radiator hose.

Indeed. There is no drain **** (I always giggle at that term) on these radiators. Just pull the lower hose.

Don't waste your time, D2 radiators don't flush well if at all.
Take it to a radiator shop that can do an alluminum radiator, along with replacing the tanks. If it is over 100,000 miles and an estimate over $250, go buy yourself a new one from British Parts of Utah along with a new t/stat and coolant pressure cap.
When installing, do not use Dexcool, switch to Peak or one of the other coolants a make your engine happier.

If you're just flushing the coolant for preventative maintenance, do it.

I think Mike was thinking of flushing because of a clogged system.

Why would there be no drain ****! After all the vehicles I have worked on in my day this would be the first with no ****!

Because a drain in the Radiator is inefficient and the dealer technicians don't use them anyway. There are also drains on each side of the engine block but I don't think anyone uses those either, they are difficult to access.

OK thanks all pulling the lower drain hose and doing a flush with some of that gunk system cleaner. then adding new antifreeze.

If you just want to change the fluid make sure you use something other then Dexcool and make sure to replace the t/stat.
