Fuel Pump

I would like to provide the board a warning that I have learned the hard way. When replacing your fuel pump, do not order one for $56 from ebay as the part that I recieved is junk. I am returning and going to buy a Bosch replacement instead so I may have just got a bad apple, but the quality of what i recieved is really poor.

One day one after the install, my truck got me to my desitination and then would not start, upon inspection a hose had popped off the fuel pump, which was just letting fuel recirculate in the tank. I hose clamped that one and went on my way. 2 days later my truck breaks down in the middle of the highway, suddenly running "out of gas", keep in mind I have two thirds a tank. Had the truck towed home and inspected the fuel pump, a different hose had popped loose.

I should have known better to buy such a cheap replacement but I guess I was just hoping it would work out. Just wanted everyone to be aware so they will hopefully not have to experience the same aggrevation.

Take care!

This is good to know since I saw that pump the other day and put it on my watch list on eBay, hate that it happened to you though

There are good fuel pump replacement motors on-line, just need to know what and where to buy them from.
AirTex is a good example.

I also have plenty of good, used SAI and non SAI fuel pumps with 60 day warranties for $60 with free shipping. Nice to have a spare on the shelf for moments like these.

This is a smokin' good deal if you consider the cost of a NEW part (or even the replacement motor), and also how robust D2 pumps seem to be compared to D1. I wouldn't hesitate to order one of these used.... if I needed one.
