Default General Grabber AT2 255/60 R18 Snowflake symbol

I'm weighing my options as far as tires go right now but need some information... I have pretty much narrowed down on the above tire as I want a tire that is snowflake approved so I don't have to mess around with chains. However, the tirerack.com site says that certain sizes, including 255/55 and 255/60 don't display the snowflake symbol. I was hoping that someone who has either of these tires on their truck could confirm this? Thanks!

Yes that is true, not all tires of the same model are severe snow approved, different rubber compounds.

That's why I chose the Yokohama geolanders instead. Not that we get too much snow here.... but it doesn't hurt to be prepared for a cross country trip.

I am getting Blizzak DM-V1s tomorrow. Had them on a Jeep Wrangler a few years back and they were friggin awesome in the snow.

Yea, I just put a set of 255-65's on. The only marks on the sidewall are M+S. So no, they are not rated for deep snow, but when you see the tread pattern on them and if you know how to drive in snow, you will be fine.

Yeah, I'm sure they would do fine, however they have laws here in Oregon that you must either carry chains or have rated tires so I was looking to cover myself.

Looks like I'm going to get a set of used LR 16" alloys and get some 255/70R16's that are snow rated. Works out to the same price as a set of 18" tires which is just ridiculous but there you go. Thanks for the info everyone.
