I hear you on both points. I wouldn't mind one with more miles but my wife would feel better about lower mileage. She is a brand new car type of person. Used cars in general make her nervous so this way I can soften that.

Honestly if it's genuine and in good shape I am happy about the price. I was really more interested in the feedback I have gotten about the credibility of it, which is probably how I should have framed the original post.

Thanks!

I don't want to share the link, but here are the images. Information about service, etc. comes from direct communication with the seller. (I did the blackout, seller did the whiteout.) I didn't ask for digital scans of the service receipts because he said he could bring them to the meet. I will ask lots of questions.

Low mileage older vehicles will always exist, but your wife needs to understand it’s just a number. For example you can have a 58k city driven stop n go vehicle vs a 116k highway driven vehicle & chances are the 116k vehicle is in better shape as city driving stop n go type driving is much harder on a vehicle vs highway miles.

It looks clean & legit so just get it checked out by a mechanic and go from there.

I understand that either way (high or low mileage) this vehicle is old and will need lots of ongoing maintenance. Part of the appeal for me is learning to do more of the maintenance myself. I am willing to pay extra for a lower number because it will avoid handwringing conversations about "are you sure we should take the old car on the trip?" Rubber deteriorates regardless of mileage, etc. I get it.

Thanks!

Excellent truck, fair price. Lucky to find one that has not been abused. Will easily go 300k with proper maintenance, keep your family safe in that ride too! Easy to work on, easy to keep. Probably get 15-20 good years out of it, sell it for more than you paid for it as it will truly be a classic by then.

Looks clean. That SD rack is a nice bonus too.

Edit: weird how he only has one safari light up front. LR sold those in pairs I believe. That paired with the headgaskets being done it's almost like he wanted more air getting to the rad if it was overheating.

Looks like a well cared for Rover, though I wish I could see under the hood. I'd negotiate down a bit but if I was in the market I'd consider that truck for sure. I just bought my wife an LR3 with the same mileage and it was ALOT more but no better vehicle. Had we seen that one first, I bet it would be mine after a thorough check and some haggling.

The light may have broken. Some problem resulted in the HG replacement. Shops will pull the engine so I'm not surprised about the rear seal being replaced since they all leak. However, mine didn't leak until over 100 thousand miles. First head gasket at 120 thousand miles. The interior looks like a 58 thousand mile, garaged truck.

Good luck!

Just check the frame for rust. I noticed the rear ladder and both lower lamp guards are are pretty rusty.
