Got some codes today
I knew it wouldn't last. Eventually the SES light had to come on. Well, it did. Got codes P0560 and P1668. Thinking those codes might be related to the severe (and I do mean severe) thunderstorm early this morning. (even my front yard was flooded and that doesn't happen often) Maybe my Disco was in the proximity of a lightning strike :D Anyhow, I made several stops around town today (about 7) Constantly shutting off and starting the vehicle with no problems. Had to do some searching for the P1668 code. I found 2 results: One says "PCM-IDM comm fault" and the other says "Anti-Theft Alarm serial link fault Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum." For now I've cleared the codes and see if they come back.

fingers crossed it was a one off thing

Guess it wasn't a one time thing :( 3 weeks later and the code came back tonight while I was driving around. Looks like the only remedy is a trip to the dealer. I'm going there on Monday to have an alignment done so I'll see what my options are. I'm hoping it's just because of the battery.

your BCU might need to be reporgrammed or replaced.
- Unlock the vehicle and wait one minute. - With the ignition off, verify that the anti-theft alarm LED blinks slowly. - Turn the key to position "II" and verify the alarm LED is on continuously. This indicates an immobilized condition. - Check that Passive Immobilization is on by attempting to start the vehicle with the LED on continuously. - If the vehicle does not start, confirm that Passive Immobilization is turned on as follows: ^ Turn off ignition and remove the key. ^ Press the unlock button on the plip once. ^ Attempt to restart the vehicle within 30 seconds. ^ If the vehicle starts normally, Passive Immobilization is activated. The BCU must be replaced or reprogrammed by Land Rover |
