Grease center pivot without dropping shaft
Ok. Lots of threads say you need to drop the shaft at output to grease the center ball. A few threads say you can do it without dropping it.
I'm about to attempt to grease it (my first attempt failed when the needle broke) and I'd like to do it without dropping the output. So what is the trick?

Well, when I had mine rebuilt they put on extenders on the U-joints that stick out further so I can get the tip in there, not sure what others have done.
If you are actually talking about the centering ball, I thought that was supposed to be a non greasable part.

i don't know of this extender, of which you speak. does it protrude out of the housing, for the centering ball? or do you mean for the u-joints, only?

yeah, no kidding. I have an extra front shaft. I take it under, as i drain the oil, swap it out, and get that one greased for next time. talk about high maintenance, i feel like i have a second wife.
