Guys I need buying help ASAP 97 disco
Ok been looking at TONS of these things, it's down to 5, but I found one two months ago and had been on and off with the guy about buying it
Blue 97 128k on it, brush bars, side steps Guy wanted 6500 at first, to make a long story short we're at the bottom line of 3900 for this thing here are the issues though You start it, and it revs to around 2500 for about 15 seconds then idles at 800, normal? Abs lights and Brake lights are on at idle, What does this mean? Missing mirror section from passenger side rear view, easy to find? Broken rear view auto dimming mirror, money? easy to find/install? Sounds like it needs new pads when I drove it, easy to do? Runs and shifts smooth, plenty of go on it. Tons of crud around the heads, normal? Radio needs a code, info? body is clean, interior is decent... Help me out on this guys, pending what you have to say I might pass or pick this up.. help asap would be real awesome!!!! TIA brad |

TIA brad The idle is not a problem, most likely a dirty stepper motor, usually can be cleaned and be OK The ABS lights may be on because, as you have mentioned, may need brakes, not a big deal to check and replace if you have done brakes before. You will at sometime need to go have the brake system scanned and clear the codes. Possible head gasket, hard to say with out checking Contacting the dealer with the vin number, you can get the radio code and reset it. Might want to have someone look and check for head gasket problems, the repair is pricey. Good luck, Mike |

Thanks a million, now is a head gasket alot of money because it's a difficult service, or is it just because rover dealers overcharge? I can't imagine it's a more complicated head gasket than my mustangs dohc 4.6...
