Having a issue with transmission. 99 landrover Discover 2
So my fiance got our 99 land rover stuck in a ditch she was giving it a lot of gas i guess and now after i had it towed out Drive does not work? Reverse works fine in high and low also neutral but it will not move in drive when giving it gas? the M and S light flashes and the D light flashes when i put in 2, 3 or 1 it still flashes? Do you think the transmission is shot?

Battery is low.
Have the alternator tested.
Charge the battery.
The solenoids in the transmission are probably under voltage and can;t lock the planetary gears for drive.
That's all it is.
But don't drive it like that.
Maybe best to put in a new battery from Walmart.
If the lights come back on after that - time for a new alternator.
The transmission is voltage sensitive.

Had similar issue. Although my d2 would still drive. They call it limp mode basically in 3rd no matter what..old crummy battery and even worse terminal connectors were my issue. Another symptom that popped up for me before the limp mode was radio cut out (kinda like a cd skip) and clock/odometer faint flash. If it is bad battery connections u can disconnect batt for a few mins to clear the M S flash and drive normal
