I'd love a one-solution bluetooth fix. Is this music and phone calls? Do you have any complaints or ticks you don't particularly care for?

i've used the grom aux port on two different discos for the last couple of years. sound quality is excellent. i'm assuming that their bluetooth adapters use the same line-level interfacing into the head unit.
keeping the oem head unit also means that you retain the functionality of the steering wheel volume controls.

Are these the two pieces I need to make this happen? Looks fairly simple

Yes but only if you value a USB and an 1/8" jack. The one I linked (https://gromaudio.com/store/bt3_adap...interface.html) is a bluetooth only version. It will still do music and calls, and retain the steering wheel button functionality, you just lose the external plug in.

By the way, it looks like if you add this https://gromaudio.com/store/accessor...ble-35usb.html you get the 1/8" jack PLUS a 5v USB charging port for $15.

Here's the link to GB 4x4 radios. They did mine about 5 years ago with the aux in the front face. It still works great.

Just chiming in to say I also have the Grom unit for my 01 D2 and it's been absolutely rock solid for nearly three years. Has never failed to pair and works great for music and calls. And the steering wheel controls work perfectly. Best $112 I've spent on her.

When I installed my GROM I couldn’t for the life of me get it positioned so that the head unit could be pushed all the way in. I ended up taking the circuit board out of the housing and wrapping it with adhesive backed foam insulation. Worked great.

Quick Reply: Head Unit finally ate a tape, Is there an oem solution with an AUX input?
