Thumbs up Headliner Horror

Chancho goes under the knife next week to have a new transmission installed so I think this is the perfect day to get the headliner done. Josh and hilltop have both described the process and I hope I'm up for the challenge.

I hope those two are around later today because I think I'm going to need a lot of help. Will post more as the madness unfolds.

Project start time 12:45 p.m. Central.

just don't use a thick layer of glue, otherwise you will end up with finger prints as you press it down, i know first hand LOL

Thanks for the tip but I am not installing a new headliner. I am painting the board.

On another note, I have rear a/c and can't figure out how to remove the vents. Luckily, some of them are cracked already and need to be replaced. The vents are tough to get out and they don't want to budge. Any suggestions?

after you get the homelink out you can just disconnect it at the harness connection point and put it aside. the sunroof panel pops out has three connectors that come undone and the light has one connector and two screws behind the plastic lens.

Can't figure out how to get to the screw on the rear sunroof and a/c panel.

Thanks for the help hilltop.

Rear switch is out and the screw underneath is out. How do I get the plastic frame off that is still connected to the headliner? I feel some plastic screw type thingys. Pop those out? What about the round little plastic screw thingys on the side panels?

there are little nuts on the back of the headliner that hold the cargo nets and that middle console on. be careful when unscrewing them because the bolts are plastic and can snap easily if twisted too hard. the side panels pop off just be careful and make sure to pull the panel from both sides so you dont break the panel by pulling from one side. the panel above the gate has to come off as well you should do that before the rear side panels there are two more push buttons holding the headliner on behind that. It just pulls off it has 4 metal clips on the back side so just pull it straight off with both hands spaced out. make sure you label where each body pin comes from because there are a few different sizes.
