Default Help! Exhaust Manifold issue

Hey Guys,

I am putting my Exhaust manifolds on and the Drivers Side is not lining up. I bought a use one as my original was damaged. Am I screwed? I have bolts 1,2,3 in, but four won't go.

So, the # 4 bolt was not lining up, prolly had a hard time as the heads are on the engine. First, chase the holes! Second, I got 1,4,8, 6 in followed by the bottom.

First butt kicking today.

This is def the time to take your time, step away for a moment if needed, double check everything. Keep at it!

Yeah, this was the first time I have had to really reevaluate and try a few different things.

The Bolts were difficult to get in so I added a middle torque sequence/ I did 11, 20, 28 instead of just 11 and 28. Might have been a good Idea to do them before installing the head gaskets, but without a tool bench and garage that would have been very challenging.

I don't think that you *can* install the exhaust headers before the head gasket!

AB vid has the manifolds attached to the heads for removal and install.

Be careful installing the exhaust manifold gaskets, it is very easy to get them turned around and put them on backwards. Be sure to use Never-Seez on the bolts.
