So guess it wasn't the battery because just went to leave and it won't start! Same lights flashing as before.

Mechanic is closed and I'm on the island, offer still stands if someone can take a look at it tomorrow and help? Beer and food on me.

So let me get this straight, you drove it, shut it off and now it wont start?
It turns over fine but wont start, is that right?

Correct.

Actually, installed new battery, started car, let car idle for 10 mins, turned car off and then hour or so later started car and drove 30 miles. Parked car and then proceeded to start it 3 hours later and now turns over fine and won't start.

Bad crank sensor.
When it wont start remove one of the spark plugs and check for spark.
If there is not any you need a new crank position sensor.

It's cold out and real late, will test tomorrow. I did attempt to start and it fired on first try :/.

Best way to check spark on rover? Pull plug and have helper crank?

When you say fired - it cranked and ran? Or just turned over (cranking)? Or turned over, started, then died?

About spark test, that's reasonable. Or have dealership salesman hold it really tight...

Sorry for any confusion, it never died. It did start last night when I tried around midnight. When it does not start, engine just cranks.

Hilltopper, have only one car now so have no choice . You can only imagine how the wife is feeling about this

Ok so some other weirdness, mechanic checked everything for over a couple of hours. He also assumed it was the CPS and ran some tests. He did find what he thinks is the problem. The fusebox.... He tightened and checked all wiring, but for some reason cannot fix it. He said the fusebox is loose and demonstrated by starting the car and wiggling the fusebox under the hood, the car would stall out. He checked for shorts and could not find any. He also tested all fuses and relays and Narrowed it down to a faulty fusebox.

I checked Atlantic rovers and rovers north online with no luck, anyone know where I can order one besides LR dealer?

Also anyone ever heard of or seen a faulty fusebox?

Everytime he wiggled it, car would stall. He said if it does not start, wiggle the box and try. He said he can order a new one and replace it.
