Hi/low knob broke (please help)

The lever is free......the snap ring Under the car broke off that holds the cable in place. First anyone know what kind/size of ring holds the back side of the cable in place? Second i am stuck in low! So is there a way i can move it back in high from under the car in the mean time so i can drive it? Thanks

The cable is held in by a c clip.
