"High Line" vs Harman Kardon sound system

I'm relatively certain I have the "High Line" system, rear subs, 3 speakers in the front (feet, door, A pillar), and a CD changer under the passenger seat...

HOWEVER...

I have a 2000 D2 that blew it's engine before buying this one that DOES have it except on that one the middle front door speaker grilles has a "Harman Kardon" badge on it.

My question, Is there a difference at all between the systems or did they just stop using the badged grille at one point (or factory oopsie)?

Harmon kardon

I think there are 2 systems. The high line system is the Harmon kardon. The lower system is the Phillips. The Harmon kardon has 3 front speakers. 2 in the door. 1 in the a pillar. They are marked on the back with Harmon kardon. I’m not certain about the ohm ratings on the speakers. Most are 4 ohms in a car. But since hk uses an amp, they may be 2 3 or 4. The Phillips amp will plug into the Harmon kardon amp connector under the seat. But it is not as powerful and won’t power the 3rd speaker. You should match the amp to the speakers. The head unit is an alpine. I’m working on repairing my speakers and haven’t quite figured it out yet. Exchanging parts.

There are three systems. (The RAVE describes all of this.) The top two are both HK.
The high-line system has an amp along with rear headphone outputs. Only the high-line has the upper door speakers.

4 technically thru the years. The el cheapo stereo found in 03-04 Models which was directly from a Freelander with no amp under the drivers seat. Phillips (with or without sub/tweeters depending on trim level), Harmon Kardon, and then the Becker NAV unit which IMHO was the worse unit ever fitted to a LR D2.
