hole in chassis.. is she a goner?

2001 Disco II has pretty bad rust issues on the bottom of the truck and it looks like there is a hole due to rust on the back right chassis. Is she a goner? Is this even repairable? My local rover shop told me it's pretty much done.

I just found this out because the flywheel broke in the transmission, so it looks like I have to replace the transmission as well from what my shop tells me.

I'd hate to junk the truck as this is my first disco, but not sure if it's worth keeping with these two major issues.

Thanks for your help.

Your engine is good.
Pull the engine.
Junk the truck
Get a 2001 out of state with a blown engine.
No one wants to deal with rust and all that crap.
Just junk that frame.

North Carolina, VA, all down that way.
All of the West Coast - Denver - clean clean rovers.

Original 13 colonies - states - rust belt - these places RUIN anything metal.

So, lets back up, take a couple of pictures and post them showing exactly where and how large the damage area is.
Frames can be repaired easily.

Just got back from the shop. The rust created a split in the back chassis, running about 6' in length on both right and left. Shop owner just told me he's never seen it this bad. Is it time to junk it?

If so, is junk yard my best option?

Thanks again.

i would keep it as a parts truck and go buy another d2. you will only get $500 from the junkyard.

If you want some help, take some pictures.
You can usually cut out all the bad sections and plate the frames as needed.

I've got a 2001 Rover

I've got a 2001 Rover in great shape except the motor is toast, we should get our two vehicles together. I'll buy your motor or you can buy my rover body. Where are you located? I'm in Utah

6' as in a 6 foot compromise?

Holy crap, I don't even think my Classic was that bad.

Pull the good bits, and scrap it.

He's probably nowhere near you if his chassis is that bad, there's almost no rust in Utah!
