I believe he did remove his rear sways. He fab'd the quick "discos" (that's an oxymoron) for the fronts.

 

The Range Rovers didn't have front or rear sways, the 110 has a rear only and the DII snapped the links so I just took it all off.

 

Yep, the rear is completely removed. The fronts I made disconnects for because she's still my daily driver and hard turns were just a little too squirrely without the front for my taste.

Here's some pictures of the flex I'm getting with rear removed, front disconnected (well, I actually only disconnected the drop side), stock watts, and stock brake lines on 3.5" lift. The lift is stock rear springs in the front and spacers I made in the rear. I also disconnected the shocks because I haven't replaced the stock shocks yet.

 

So you don't have shocks connected? That could contribute to the squirrelly feel.

 

No, I do keep the shocks connected. I only disconnected them for this test to see exactly how much articulation I could get if I had longer shocks. No doubt it would be an interesting ride if I had no shocks at all. There's just lots of body roll around corners without the front sway.

 

ahh ok, I was thinking that would be Mr Toads wild ride without shocks lol.

I guess I got used to it or my lift springs kept things stable enough that it wasn't a issue.

 

Haha, no doubt. Yea, I'm sure the lift springs help. I tried mine without before I had the lift. I also drive these back mountain Appalachian roads like a bat out of hell, so that contributed also I'm sure.

 

Hi , figured this would be a great place to throw in my sway-bar mod. I had the oposite opinion when I removed my rear sway bar. On the trail, articulating and climbing it was much much better. but when I was on the road going over things like speed bumps or HWY rolls my truck felt like an old Caddy. big wavy up and down bounce. Didn't like it.

My fix was that I measured the front saw bars and noticed that the links are the exact same things as the rear but about 4" longer. so I bought a pair of fronts and put them in the rear. I'm finding the same off-road articulating characteristics an having a stock on-road ride as well. FYI, my truck has a 3" suspension lift so this seems to fall into place nicely.

 

Oh yea, I've heard of that mod too! I wonder if the opposite would be true also... rear links in the front with disconnects like I've got now so you can disconnect them but the you've got even better road characteristics?

 

Sure why not. I'll tell you though. I'm running 2" heavy duty coils up front, 11000 lbs winch and steel bumper. My sway bars is gone and i've never noticed any negative effect from it on road. but off road...man it's soooo much better.
