Where'd you get a waxoyl job for $120? I've been thinking about making my own and doing it since I can't find anyone in my area that uses waxoyl. They seem to all be on the east coast.

The waxoyl itself was more than that, but just the labor was $120. The company I work for does waxoyl application/ distribution.

2003 SE7 purchased about 5 yrs. ago w/73,000 miles for around $13,000. Just around $10,000 spent on repairs and tires so far. Going to need a new engine very soon. I should cut and run, but I love my Disco!

For some insane reason, reading this stream makes me feel just slightly less crazy.
Purchased my 99 D2 with 70K miles in 2003 for $20,000 - came equipped with ARB Bull Bumper with WARN Winch, Emu shocks/springs, lifted/roof rack/ladder/new set of Cooper Discover tires/fog lamps/bumper mounted Hella driving lamps. Damn handsome truck.
Here's the crazy part she's now at 214,000 miles and worth more in parts than whole. Since purchase I've rebuilt or replaced the following:
Engine - Reman for $3300 (original engine had a cracked block @ 185K miles)
Labor - pull out old engine/put in new $1200
Alternator, Battery,Front drive shaft,Transfer Case, brakes -both front and rear, far too many wiper blades, 4 tires, new IDM running lamps, rear step, transmission sensor, ABS 3 amigo fix.
The bottom line ... I've put much more into it than what it's worth. On the other hand, how much truck could you buy for $4 to $5 grand?
It's crazy, but I sure do love my truck!

Add up all the gas you put into it.

70,000 miles say..
4666 gallons.
Say $3.50 average even

$16,333

The cost of gas these waste is more than all the parts everyone has put in.
And more than some people have paid - or nearly for the D2 itself.
