That's a good looking truck. I also got my last one out of Florida. Frame looked brand new. I am a bit indifferent about the CDL issue. I have been over every square inch of Colorado without one. It's kind of a meh for me but I don't do mud.

Pavillion, you did all right. Someone somewhere will always tell you you paid too much. Body and interior look good. You, like many others on this list with an 03, will eventually come across a xfer case with CDL. You are having fun and learning, and best of all, it will be yours, with you doing the repairs. Welcome to D2 land!

Congrats!
I executed similar move. Purchased a D2 sight unseen from Sarasota Florida & had it shipped to me living in Chicago at the time.
The frame was unlike anything I could get with a 4 season climate, however quickly realized that the sun had fried all plastic over its life in the south. So what I saved in rust/ didn’t realize I’d trade for failing rubber.
Every piece of trim, all hoses & belts, radiator, - a few bushings- all we’re toast. It was an 03/ 116k on it.

In in either case- I sorted it out slowwwllllyyyy & it was Nice in the end. For a while. Enjoy

I agree with Sunday. My Florida truck has lots of brittle plastic.. the roof gutter trim seems like an issue that abran could address and make some coin. Shipping on those long pieces is hard so I wonder if a soft rubber alternative is possible that could be rolled to ship. Hey abran, get on that would ya. Ha

When you buy off eBay how does shipping work ? Is that all up to you ?

SundayFunday 04-20-2019 05:34 PM

I used a private transport company. Cost 600$ from Sarasota to Chicago. Transport company was super easy to orchestrate.

yeah florida heat defo a problem for the rubber. I still would rather have a solid frame and body over supple hoses any day.
