does the skid plate actually protect the steering components? looks on the small side.

Easier yes, stronger no. and cheaper no. I did double welds and Made it very strong, but I wanted to weld a lot so this way I did since its the fun part for me.

What about front recovery points? (Edit: Sorry, just saw the part about the winch and tow hooks (hopefully you don't literally mean hooks as there are a number of far safer alternatives out there).)

I think I used hook as a universal word, but any suggestions are welcomed.

You've done a nice job on the brush guard, but as someone else mentioned, how do you remove the headlight without dropping the whole bumper?

I can't, its the flaw of my project and I will have to deal with it.

Don't get me wrong, I have to give you credit for piecing this together...I doubt that I could have done it myself, so please take the above questions as food for thought and their implied answers as constructive criticism...

Positive constructive criticism is what I live for, I'm a better tech and fabricator from all the knowledge I've gather from all of you( people of this world) that are so willing to share and give a educated opinion specially when I decided to go down the road less traveled.

Not yet, the skid plate its more of a half skid plate, the other half will be a bolt on piece, but I haven't got to that part yet. I'm gathering all Intel and proceeding accordingly to what feedback I get.

:rolleyes: hum let me think!! hahahaha where are you located? anyways, I just replaced the rear quarter panel, rebuilt front driveshaft, made an electric CDL actuator. In the near future=paycheck, I'll start welding the back bumper. I want it to look close to the OEM bumper but made of metal and more squarely.

Looks great if shipping didn't kill me I'd ask if you would be willing to produce another one but extend everything out 2" so you can change the lenses. To finish it off I would added holes to add the lens washers and used a plasma cutter to cut holes for the stock driving lights. Outstanding job my friend!

As a matter of fact mine was cracked over the weekend. Would you please consider mailing me a copy of your ruff sketches with measurements for the lower section? If you have it on excel or an engineering software I should be able access at the University I am attending to open that as well.
