ID this wire under the front passenger cowling
 
I was cleaning some leaves out of the front windshield cowling area and noticed this wire pair that seem to be cut from a previous owner. Can anyone help me to ID what this wire is for? I also noticed a similar pair on the other side that is still intact.

LR03NJ is right. Looks like the heated windshield was replaced with a non heated windshield.

Thank you for the replies.

So I do however see a similar wire pair connected on the drivers side. Is that also for a heated window? I don't even think I have a heated window button inside my car or even know how it would be activated if I did have it.

Can those circuits (I think mine has one on both sides) be used for lights?

Not unless you want them to turn off suddenly. The windshield heater does not stay on always and is either time or temp controlled.

I like the way they cut the wires...instead of simply unplugging them...lol. lf those wires happen to touch metal, while the system is activated...it will blow a fuse...and possibly take out a few other accessories with it on that sa me fuse.

I'd unplug them.

yes they can. I’ve diD it on mine and everyone said my truck would burn to the ground. That was at least 3-4 years ago and still fine. Only problem is they’ll only stay on for exactly 5 minutes. I read somewhere that you can have the dealership change that but I haven’t done that.

5 mins seems like an inconvenience and not worth doing. I have to keep telling myself that this is my wife's truck anyways lol
