Idler Pully????

Hey, new to the scene here with Rovers but just got a 99 DII. I think i have a bearing going in the idler pully. Its making a grinding noise and i did the "Screw Diver Test" which confirmed it was the pully. Anyone know how hard this is to do or would i be better off sending it to my rover mechanic. And also on another not have anyone ordered from ROVERCONNECTION.COM... It seems to have good prices but never heard of anyone buying from them... Well thats for your help.

Yep,it's your idler pulley alright. This was actually a recall on the DII's.I would call Land Rover and ask if yours is covered. Mine was changed before it showed a problem.I had my Disco in for an oil change, and the dealer did a outstanding recall search.Did'nt cost me a dime.

My 00 DiscoII is making a strange grinding noise in the front right side. Only when I first pull out of the driveway and then it goes away. Is this my idler pulley? What is the screwdriver test? Does anyone know which rovers were covered in the recall? Recall#?
