I am 6'6" and I don't have a leg-room "issue". I have plenty of head room, in fact more than most any other vehicle. Lights are hard to see--so don't buy the hood blackout and watch the reflection on your hood.
I am tight if I have to move up at all--but what vehicle is that not the case for me. You can get used to it if you love it. I think these trucks are not for everyone. Make it work or find something else.

All you guys with stop light seeing issues...dont stop so close to the light, stay back alittle bit, you dont have to be at the white line.

I would have to be quite a ways back from the line. Which really is a different conversation--one about brake power--or speed in traffic--or why my MPG is lower than yours. But I am not complaining!

Two guys could sit and talk pro's and con's all day.

I was told that Land Rover didnt really take into account the windscreen height for us here in the U.S. because most of the traffic lights in Europe are on posts anyways. That may be more of a tale than anything, but it make a little but of sense.

I heard that too, makes sense. I always have to duck down to see traffic lights. I have just enough leg room but the passenger side is very tight.

Spike,

Try sitting on a stack of books 8" high behind the wheel and see where you are looking. It has nothing to do with being too close to the light, it has to do with being tall. If I tried to stop back where I could see the light through the windshield I would be 5 or 6 car lengths back.

As to the legroom difference it is very tight (I am 6'6") you cannot just reverse the tracks on the power sets, but I haave seen a how-to on one of the rover forums to extend the power seat tracks and gaain aa couple inches.

The power seat movement in our Discos is stupid, forward will take you to within 1" of the steering wheel. NOBODY is that skinny!!

That is completely true, but its also great for that annual vaccum under the seats

Wow! What a great response from you all, thanks so much. Yes the power seat in the G4 goes to far forward and not far enough back but the 97's roofline does seem lower. I know that is not the case but the seat in the 04 is most likely lower. I see people drivng by on the street in a disco and it seems like eveyone is sitting on a phone book..
As for the rest of the vehicle, well fuel millage is bad but these rovers will go twice as far in the deep snow and mud as my GM 4x4 pickup will, but my pickup is much more comfortable to drive.

I made new mounts for my seat to sit a little lower ( about 1 1/2"). Im not that tall but the stoplights arent as bad to see now. Plus i have an 18" visor on my 18wheeler so im used to sitting low in the seat and sitting in the disco really was uncomfortable driving because i sat so high. Only problem with my mounts i lost the storage area under the seat.
