MASSIVE COOLANT USAGE DIAGNOSED...

Hello everyone, I discovered the coolant leak on my 03 disco yesterday and now she is fixed and back on the road once again... My friend and I found that the Valley Pan Gasket was leaking onto the top of the bell housing... there was quite a build up of coolant particles at the rear of the seal. When I started taking the manifold bolts out I discovered the rear bolt drivers side to be simply hand tight. So, I don't think the actual gasket was leaking b/c of it being blown it was simply that the bolt was not to torque specs... In fact, I don't think that any of them were to spec. Anyway, also removed the valve covers and replaced the seals and the engine is a bright beautiful golden color and it has been taken care of very well it seems... I have pictures and I will upload them to view soon... I did not however go to the task of replacing the Head Gaskets as they look like they are in good shape... Thanks to everyone who conversed with me on the thread titled massive coolant loss...

Its 9 out of 10 times the valley pan gasket that leaks, usuaully rear left side as your looking at the engine. My D1 went here and my friends D2 as well. Its just a crap design tbh lol

Glad to hear shes on da road again ;)
