Mudding The Disco for the second time,
 

I love my land rover, SO MUCH.

im lifting it 2", 200 bucks
Im chipping it, 500 bucks
im getting custom exhaust, FREE
And doing all four brake pads and shoes, around 500
And also getting some All terrains, 700-800
And maybe some wheels 500-600
Im also throwing a STS universal Single turbo on it :0 "you'll love this" 1.900.00
All this over the course of probably six months.


4,300 Hundred bucks all together, Give or take.

Save your money on the chip and get a real lift, not just spacers. The chip isn't going to do enough to justify $500 if it does anything at all. If you're actually going to off road the truck you need something more aggressive than all terrain tires. Many tires makers are now making a "crossover" that is somewhere between an all terrain and a mud terrain in aggressive tread.

I would talk directly to STS before dropping the money for a turbo. I think the turbo will do more harm than good on your engine. How many miles on the truck/engine? You have to remember that you're dealing with an engine design from the 50s, long before anyone thought of putting a turbocharger on an automotive engine.

Just my thoughts.

I agree with AK, you are wasting your money on spacers, all you will land up with is an even more top heavy truck with a still warn out suspension.
As for the tubro, for get it, I have seen some very experienced shops try and the engine won't take it.
When you get a little experience, you will find lockers are your first item, what you have now are open diffs with VERY wear spider gears that won't stand up to your weekends.

yeah, I think they covered it. No chip or turbo- do shocks and springs and lockers. With the right tires and lockers, you wouldn't have to race the engine like that to get through a little puddle.

Good tires alone would have let you idle through that!

Yea the turbo and chip are way expensive anyways, i want some really good mudding/regular road tires, Any ideas?

I like my firestone destination M/Ts for mud and road.

I just put on my Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and they're awesome. Barely any sound on the road when properly inflated and when aired down for off road they have incredible traction. Haven't tried them in mud yet but looking at the tread and the sidewall lugs I can't imagine they won't perform well.

Thats no mudding, thats just spinning your tires on loose ground.
You still could have made it, but you wanted to spin the tires and sling mud.

have you mentioned that you had dest m/t's before? thats what i'm getting withing two weeks. 235/85/16's pictures?!?!
