my disco smells like gas..
 

I just had a tune up done at my friends shop, I did some of it, plugs wires, exhaust gaskets, but he sprayed carb cleaner all in the intake and removed the snorkle for the air filter box, now on startup and random times it smells like gas, except the gas mileage went up alot... any ideas?

Could you have possibly jarred an injector or cracked a vacumn line, might check and make sure the air intake hose clamps are tight.
Did you do a good decarbon on the engine while tuning it, this will also make a big difference in how it runs?

As usual good info on a place to start mike... I didn't do anything with the intake, that's what the shop did... He pulled out the air box, maf, plenum, everything before the upper intake... he hit everything with carb cleaner put it back together... the car turned over maybe 10 times before it started, then it stalled out and died... turned over 3 more times then fired up, he let it run until it was warm then revved it a few times, black smoke shot out of the back, then it was running normal, then they tweaked it for me a little... I'll def look at the vac lines though, as that'd make since since they had the whole intake system on the truck apart... I'll report back shortly.
