Nice Spike. Were you familiar with the area before all the water or did you have to bust out the waders and check the depth/ground?

 

Yes I am familar with the area. It is the parking lotfor the river boat, "The Grand Lady", dinner cruises and such. The river boat is in dry dock for the winter and isint back yet, but the river floods every spring and with alot of rain.
This time the water was only 3-4 ft deep. If you look close you can see the wake in front of the hood.
There was a Jeep Cherokee there just before us with a lift and super swampers, guess you need that sort of thing when you drive a Jeep.
They watched to see if we could make it.

 

Nice, have you done any mods to the disco to handle the water?

 

No mods, 100% stock 1997 Discovery SE with 172+ on the clock.
I plan on new springs, better tires, but other than that no mods in the future. These trks are more than capable in stock form.
Mods are nice, but just not for me. I like showing up the Jeep and Hummer guys with a stock trk.

 

Will that water still be there for me to play if i leave now ??

 

Why, yes, yes it will. There is actually more water now. As all the snow melt from up-river comes down stream it will actually get bigger and deeper. Not to mention it is supposed to rain tonight and tommorrow.
If you look at the video closely you can see a garbage dumpster chained to a tree so it wont float away. And the LP tank up on stilts, the public boat launch is underwater but you can see the sign.
The water will get as high as the mailbox for the riverboat, when it's really bad the mailbox will be under water.
I live only a mile away so it is a frequent stop for us. The sad part is all the trash that floats in the river.
But come summer the river will be so low that the riverboat will be sitting on the bottom and you could almost walk across the river.
Come to the States and you can use my trk to go play.

 

Ahh, very very kind offer, if i ever come to the states, it will be to stay!!! and my TD5 will follow behind on a boat!!. Got to do somink soon as the UK is doomed as a country!!

 

So when is the river boat actually in service? I wish I had a little playground area like that close to my house. Ever tried to cross the river when it's low in the summer months?
