Default Need help with installing dashboard switch

Hello

I want to know how to install a switch on the dash for accessories. To the left of the climate control unit, I notice there are placeholders where you can install factory-looking switches.

If this is possible, where can I buy the switches that go perfectly in those spots?

How do you pop out the placeholder switches?

How do you install the real switches? Where is the best place to tap for power?

Thanks in advance and apologize if there is already a thread on this. I did try looking first and didn't find what I was looking for

Yes, you can buy factory replacement switches from the dealer or Expedition Exchange.
As for directions, down load a Rave CD and it will walk you thru what to do.

Mike, thanks for replying. I searched the Rave workshop manual for the D2 and couldn't find what I was looking for. Closest thing was on page 76-3-16 but it wasn't that helpful. Any chance you could direct me to the correct page?

Also if anybody can direct me to the easiest source to tap a switched 12V power, it would be very much appreciated

Sincerely

al

I just looked and can't find it either, might want to post a question on how to remove and replace these switches and see who replies.

The switches just pop out, take a small screwdriver and pry on the horizontal edge of the cover (or switch) I was going by memory on this so I went out and confirmed that this works, and it does. Interesting thing is that the blank places have wiring and a connector attached to the blank plate. I'm thinking this is because the same wiring harness is used for all Discos, wonder what they go to (I don't have SLS so maybe that is one of the answers)

Thanks Bkreutz. What is SLS?

Self Leveling Suspension (an option) basically air bag suspension in the rear. (I won't give my opinion of what I think of it here because many members like it a lot)
