need info on wiring harness for disco 2 off road lights

I am in need of a way to wire my front off-road lights to a switch on my console, do I need a special harness to do this, if so anyone know where to get one?

Nope, you can use your switch, just need to find the engine compartments fuse block, install a relay into that power lead and wire your light in.

It would help if we knew what switch you was going to use ? factory ? aftermarket ?

You can do away with a switch, and wire them directly of the High beam circuit, if your in the dark and need extra lighting, you will have high beam on most likely anyway. A switch does give you a choice, but its not needed if you want to do it "simply"

heres a "basic" diagram I drew for 2 x 55watt spots, if you use 100w, then double the fuse rating and use 25 amp cable

Whoah! This post is really very useful. Thanks a lot for sharing. Now all we need is to search for the right off road lights that will fit and suit the looks of our vehicle.

You are better off using the high beam circuit. Its safer to wire to the highbeam circuit with lights that turns on only when the highbeams are on and when the switch is turned on. Prevents issues with excessive draw on the lights and the other systems.
