RE: New drive shaft going in this weekend
The install went without a hitch, and my old drive shaft was in fine condition. I didn't have two 14mm wrenches so a 9/16ths was used instead. This finishes my preventative repairs to RoverFlo, so now I need to focus on equipment like storage, recovery, and finaly getting the CDL linkage put in.

RE: New drive shaft going in this weekend
Sorry aublec22-
I had my post bookmarked for easy updates and didn't see your post. Man that's really sucks about your d/s. How long have you had the D2? It seems this issue should be in a sticky due to the number of times this happens and the amount of damage that is done. Hopefully you can get back on the road in a reasonable amount of time.
Not sure how much time you can wait but rover connection has a front drive shaft for a D2 with the grease zerks installed for $395. There's a $50 core charge, maybe they can cut you a deal. They are based out of Salt Lake City and might be able to expedite an order due to your circumstances. The one on RoverLandParts (Tampa, FL. & $650) will put you in the same situation you are in now. The driveshaft doesn't have the grease zerks so you run the risk of another drive shaft failure. I haven't had to deal with my transmission so I don't have much advice to offer there. I hope that helps you save some extra $$$ on the repair bill.

RE: New drive shaft going in this weekend
I just replaced my drive shaft yesterday. I purchased a new one
from Tom Wood's for under $350 shipped. I couldn't be happier with
the service and product I received from them. This is one strong looking
drive shaft with 5 grease points.
I replaced it due to advice from this forum. I am glad I did. Visually it looked
great but once it was out the cardan felt like it had sand in the joint.
It was probable a mater of time before it failed. Thanks Guys!
