New guy, possible old question
I have a 2002 Disco. One of the newest problems I have had is when I start the truck after it sits for more than 5 minutes it takes 3 cranks to start. The odd thing is, it starts religiously on the 3rd crank. Anyone heard of that before and, if so, have a proposed solution?
Thanks everyone. RLL |
so,,,, it starts fine after 3 cranks? and you find this a problem?
how does it start when cold? right away? |
if you just turn the key up two times without turning it over then turn it over on the third will it start?
|
possibly fuel pump losing it's prime. I wouldn't worry about it until it got worse.

True, I guess compared to some, starting fine on the third crank works :)
I've tried just turning the key without actually activating the starter but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I had wondered about the fuel pump or some type of vac leak, as well. I guess my fear is that one day it doesn't start at all.... Thanks for the input. This is a great forum. I was actually able to find the reason my sunroof leaks today. Drain line broke from the roof pan. Fixed it with a piece of rubber tubing. Awesome. |
