Default New Stereo

Just wanted to see if anyone had a new cd player/head unit installed. I am curious to see if there are any out there that will work with the controls on the steering wheel. I would like to play my ipod, so I will probably get rid of the disc changer since it has been going in and out. Thanks

Most of the new iPod compatible Alpine head units will work with the steering wheel controls, but not all of them. The Crutchfield site will tell you if each one you're looking at has an option for a steering wheel control compatibility module.

Here's the one I had installed:

Car Toys did the work to my satisfaction.

I have a Sony Head Unit, and was going to try this:

But haven't tried yet. Sure would be cool if it works as promised.

Or you can get a universal interface like I did, it uses an IR led placed on the tunnel cowl to control things, lags a little but I never used the stock setup so I'm not sure if that's normal.

Did you purchase the iPod interface option, and if so, are you satisfied with the performance?

I added a Pioneer AVIC-N3 flip out NAV, with backup camera, iPod (works great) and Sirius. Love it.

awesome.

side note- I wasn't actually saying you were gay, just reminded me of the movie. For whatever it's worth, I got a good chuckle.

and out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, what did that set-up run you?
