No front bumper on 04 pics

Well, I removed my front bumper today to fix a bent side bracket that was bothering me and rubbing my passenger tire while barely turning. I got it off pretty easily and found the bent bracket, but decided to just leave it off. It doesn't look all that great, but it isn't horrible. I care more about approach angle than looks anyway. I don't have the money (student) or want to put a $1k bumper on a $5k vehicle either. Also, the washer fluid never worked anyway (leaking somewhere), so taking it off wasn't a big deal to me. Anyhow, I just thought I would show a pic if any of you with 03-04s have been toying with the idea of doing the same.

That poor Disco........

Gives it that classy freshly wrecked and half assed repaired look.

Yea, yea. It works for me.

I don't think it looks that bad at all. You could probably do some innovative chopping on the old bumper and then paint it black. Might look cool.

Yea, I thought of that, but I will probably just keep it around in case I ever sell it. Plus, it's got a crack on the top of it anyway that would show no matter how much I cut off. The approach on it now though is excellent.

To each their own, but I've gotta go with street wolf on this one. I've got a bent bracket and crack in my front bumper on my 04 but I've decided I'm the only person who notices so I don't even worry about it anymore.

People may get out of your way quicker with no bumper than a steel bumper though. I know I avoid wrecked looking vehicles more than those with steel bumpers.

Bumper

I thought it was illegal to drive without a front bumper, it certainly is in the UK

$5,000 vehicle? An '04? If you believe that, I've got some waterfront property to sell you...

KBB Value with my options and 131k miles in good condition:

Trade in- $4675
Private party- $7005

I generally try to buy around trade in value, which I did for this one (5k). Could I sell it for 7k with the bumper (that has a crack)? Doubt it. These aren't $40k vehicles anymore, so yes I will buy some waterfront property. Where is it, Lake Martin? :)
