no start p1668

I was driving My 2001 Disco 2 across the country and got a 1668 and died on the highway then when I got it started I got the codes p0171 p0174... no power to the fuel at all now? because of alarm? Here is what we have done...new ckps still no start so then we changed the bcu + ecu + the ignition from a parts truck and it started went 150 miles and died.now no power to the fuel pump and the only codes that came back now are p0171 and p0174 ... this one has me stumped. Any help?? Has anyone had the p1668 and over come it?

I'd probably ignore that code right now. You are probably getting a low battery trying to crank it when it's not starting. Are you getting power to the fuel pump when it won't start?

No power to fuel pump period jafir... all fuses and relays test good no burnt wires that i have spotted. This code is a Immobilizer code which is what seems to be happening, why would i ignore it? For some reason the truck is taking power from the fuel pump. Security system? Buzz?
it will start & run if spraying gas directly into intake as a test.
It has a two battery set up and one battery has 12.46 on primary and 12.67 on secondary batt. We has put a ton of work into this one and it normally runs great. Just this very uncommon code and then her symptoms.

I'm just suggesting not focusing on that code for right now. You very well might have to come back to it. It just that in my opinion, the symptoms aren't consistent with what that code means. If you've got that code (or one of the ones close to it) you will get power to the fuel pump and injectors until the ECM decides it doesn't like or cannot read the BCU security code. So according to rave, and the way my red truck acted, was it would start and then immediately die.

Since the car died while driving, I would think something else is going on. The ECM only check the security code on startup.

I've seen lot of D2 have this code when the battery was disconnected or ran down.

Batterys are fine. But as I said the 1668 code did not come back today or just not yet. No LED for alarm. But the way it was acting today after it died the fuel pump is being primed because it will start for just a second then die it did that a few times then no start at all

anything else you can think of??

Thanks
Joe

I just tried to start and it cranks over fine but now it will not attempt to fire any further.

Okay so we have a p1230 and the p1668 code back and it fired up on the first turn this morning? Wtf?
Well i guess i will give a go at replacing the fuse panel in the cab and under the hood today and see what happens. Any ideas?

"Thanks for all the help so far guys"

so today I changed the inside fuse block/ IDM inside the cabin and then turned the key to the #2 position for 5 minutes to allow the computers to all sync up. Then i gave it a shot and walla she fired right up!!! Woooohooooooo so happy:-) i let it run for few hours and then took it for a short drive and all went well " no codes" i have started it a handful of times and no problems thus far.

After changing all of these parts i now have the tc and hill decent lights illuminated but no abs light? Can any of you shed some light on that part maybe? Hello??? Anybody???
