Noisy pulley? What else?
 

Hey guys, I want to see if anyone else can help steer me in the right direction before I throw any parts at it. I tried taking a quick video to get a sample of the 2 distinct noises that I hear clearly in person, but we'll see if you can pick it up. The loudest noise I believe is a pulley (whirl.whirl.whirl). The other noise i've picked up is closer to a constant bumble bee. (zzzzzzzz)

I've got a slow oil leak that I believe is coming from the front crank seal. Could they be related in that the oil leak is causing the front crank pulley to be noisey? Tensioner or bearing?

You can not diagnois a noise by listening to a video with any accuracy.
Take the belt off and spin each pulley on your truck and replace as needed.
As for your oil leak, they don't make noises as such.

Didn't think so, but thought it couldn't hurt to try. I'll give them all a spin and let you know what I find out.

It is common for Rovers to have either or both idler pulley bearing to fail as well as the tensioner pulley.

Also trying the old tube/pipe to ear method can help narrow down the area where the noise is coming from. Careful with your hands as all those pulleys and Serp belt are behind the cooling fan. Chop Chop!

Does this noise disappear once everything is warm? I am currently experiencing an issue due to some Lucas Power Steering Conditioner. The stuff was so thick it is making my PAS complain when the temperature drops. Once the pump & fluid are warm the noise disappears.

Yeah it sounds like a whining pump to me.I have a very similar noise on my truck and narrowed it down to my ace pump using the screw driver to the ear trick.Mine need replacing but its so damn pricey.

Hey guys, my noise from primarily from the tensioner pulley, but the two idler pulley's were also making some noise and on the way out. I bought the set from AB for $130 and installed all three and it now runs OH SO QUIET!

Taking the belt off and spinning each pulley did not help me in this case, couldn't hear anything. I tracked it down with it running and using a mechanics stethoscope ($7 from HarborFr) and it was quite obvious which were making the racquet.

Swapping in the new pulley's was a breeze...take off the belt and loosen 1 bolt for each pulley! Thanks for the help!
