Front Drive shafts on these LR's are famous for dying. If while removing it you hear pops it's probably got trashed u-joints. 113-200.00 can get you a brand new one with zerk fittings on all the u-joints.

So I found some red fluid on the bellhousing inspection plate bolts. I removed the plate to find 2 small metal shavings and chunks of rubber from the stopper that sits above there on the engine block. I'll drain the tansmission to see how much fluid is or isnt in there.
