oil pressure question

Just to update I did an "oil pump" search here, you must use quotes or it won't use oil as a keyword.
The chamfer was only on the OEM factory oil pump gears, aftermarket pumps apparently did not have that and can go in either way.

Could well be true, however given the choices the oil pump is the logical first place to look. He has no need to replace his "new" set of oil pump rings if they check out ok.
Then he can move on the the bigger harder things like you mention, RMT.
No need changing out bearings if you overlook a broken oil pump. :-)
