those are good points guys. i did unplug the compressor and noise is still there. i will try the other suggestions later on today. the ac does kick on at 62 degrees and i did observe the ac spinning with no sound change and it does cool off significantly but maybe it could use more oil and refrigerant im not sure but check out thhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx6KkwaqBYE&feature=context&context=G295af aeAUAAAAAAABAAis vid and tell me what you guys think.

nothing made noise when you spun them by hand?
Then i'm going to vote on you AC clutch is falling apart,
because the compressor is not running in that video it's just free wheeling.
but you have something in there with a bad bearing almost sound like the fan on the front of the alt. is hitting.

no, nothing made any noise when the belt was off, thats what has me stumped. thats what is sounds like to me too. i purposely left the ac off to illustrate that it makes that noise either way. when i spin the compressor by hand there is no noise but as soon as i put the belt back on, there it is. i dont know if the tension from the belt is making the sound apparent. one thing i did notice is that when i had the belt on but the belt was very loose, the sound was there but not as bad.
