Default Okay taking my lumps and the pain comes from brake light switches

Ok so my truck has been getitng stuck in park. Also brakes lights sometimes not working. Researched the issue and felt comfy that it was the brake light switch. So I go to rover parts and come up with this

http://www.roverparts.com/Nxt/search...egory=Switches

I have a 2002 disco 2 so this seems like it shoudl be the one. I ordered it and got it today. I get under the dash which unfortunatly was not easy as the plastic clippy things are hard and brittle. I was careful but to would not budge then broke. Ok well at least I can see the switch... Well it does not look anything like the switch I ordered. Damn never thought to pull the old one first. Ok I now realize how dumb that was but still the roverparts only had oen option so i thought I was safe. After lookign around on the intenet I found a part that looks much closer.

Any ideas on why the roverparts website has a diff then expected part? Am I missing something???? I paid 30 for the wrong one. I tried to see if the roverparts one would fit but I htink I would have to force it.

I have not replaced mine yet, and the one you got may work, but the second one is the one I have always seen pictured for the D2.

It does not seem to work at all. Even besides the shape it does not seem to send the right signal. Brkes lights willl not turn in at all and park will stay stuck.

Ok Ok. This is the deal. The first one will work. I was just being too gentle. You must put it in and press and turn clockwise and it will snap into place. When you turn it it also turn a little blue mechanism that I am guessing activates it. So all is well. Switch does work just loosk alot diff. Oh and is harder to put in.
