Default opinions on replacement hubs?

I'm in the process of bleeding my financial veins into my 2000 Disco II and am considering hubs. I've owned it since new, it has never been offroad, it has zero rust, I have always maintained it myself, I am not a mechanic, and it has about 150000 o the odometer. I recently replaced the ball joints, HD driveshafts incl double cardan rear, steering and other front end links, inline thermostat, new radiator, hood strut, cone filter, abs sensors, did the abs mod option B, rotoflex delete, crossmember bolts, etc. New 4.11 gears and HD axle shafts/CVs are days away, then caster correction bushings or reworked radius arms. Now I am thinking about hubs. My last car payment was in 2003 so I'm okay with the money aspect. I also have a rebuilt engine and transmission waiting for install. I am now in procrastination mode on the engine and transmission. The idea is to make the Disco completely, mechanically reliable and go awhile without having to turn a wrench on it.

I'm not going to pay 300 or more for individual hubs. That's just out. I can afford it, but I am offended by the price. It pisses me off when I see the price for nearly identical Chevy hubs (two for 70 bucks). I wan tnew hubs unless there is a source for used with new bearings. If it is folly to replace hubs that have no issues please feel free to tell me; I am humble.

So, are these temken hubs okay to get? If so, is there any reason why some are a hundred each and some are two hundred or more each? Is there a great place to get them? Anyone know the mythical spot for 80 dollar ones? And am I right that front ones can be used all the way around? Do I need new o rings with them?

Best,

Charlie V

Last year I bought the cheapos from autopartswarehouse.com. I don't remember exactly what I paid, but I do recall that with a little searching for online coupons I got them delivered for ~$100.

Replacement REPL283708 Wheel Hub | Auto Parts Warehouse

Yes, you are correct, the front and back hubs are the same, except the wire for the front hub is longer. Buy a front hub and just cut the clips off (don't cut the wires) and zip tie the wires into a nice loop out of the way to use on the back.

This is the best deal out there and these are the ones I replaced mine with. I've had no troubles what so ever and u recommend them to anyone needing new hubs. If you've got to pull them all anyway, I'd definitely put on new for this price.

Timken makes great products. I use them in my SuperDuty, and they last a hell of a long time, and are about 1/3 the price of Ford.

If you can get a model number, shop them around, lots of people sell, including the big A.

Thanks all. I just pulled the trigger on a set of four with ABS lines. 374 shipped. Timkin.

I also found front shaft seals and o rings but I can't find back shaft seals. Lord I can't even find them on the diagram but I am staring at them right now on my truck!
