Default oxygen sensor

So i went to rover conection to get the best price on all four oxygen sensors, and after i ordered i was wondering why they didn't have a front and back just one style. is there a difference or will it be ok, I have a 96 disco with 88000 on her.

I have a 94 Disco with 73000 miles on it. Should I go ahead and replace the Oxygen Sensors when I do my 75k service? If so, how difficult is it to replace them and where are they located? I have the Rave CD for the truck but I always like a written explaination also. Thanks

One more thing. The original owner kept all of the service records and the Disco had the 60k service done at a LR stealership. When I do the 75k I'm gonna go ahead and replace the plug wires and plugs with magnecor wires and bosch platinums. What other maintenance do I need to perform for the 75k service?

It all depends on what was done at the 60k service, remember that just becasue it was done at the dealer doesnt mean that everything was done.
Dealer-"Mr Smith you need A,B and C at it will cost D."
Mr. Smith-"No thanks, just do A and C."
If you can do yourself a huge favor and get the records from the previous owner.
I wouldnt worry about the O2 sensors yet, they are at reduced performance but not failed, so you could wait. If you want to be proactive it wont hurt anything to replace them early.
They are at the cats, one before it and one after it. Buy a O2 socket for your ratchet, a can of penatrant/lube and a 6 pack of ice cold Pepsi, undo the plugs and unscrew. Install is reverse of removal.
You will need to spray the pen/lube and let it work its way down the threads an hour before you start. Buy something good, not WD-40.
Do not put anything on the O2's, they may come with anti-seize for the threads, that is fine to use, but do not put anything on the sensor part.
Make sure the plugs are tight.
Wouldnt hurt to replace your fuel filter, I replace mine every spring. They rust and are a bugger to get off if left on to long. It is behind the pass rear wheel.

Service is based not only by mileage but by time. It would be well worth it to do everything on your truck so there will be no surprises down the road.
Here is a list for you.
The 02'2 ae are below the engine on your exhaust pipes, look around the cats to find them, they are not hard to change but as old as your truck is, you will need to use some penetrating oil to loosen them up.

This is the parts list for a 60,000 mile service or a high mileage used truck, the way I do it.
1 Oil filter, K&N 3001 or Mobil 1
1 Air filter
6 Qts of engine oil
12 Qts of ATF
7 Qts of 80/90W synthetic gear oil
1 Qt of synthetic Brake fluid
2 Qts of synthetic Power steering fluid
2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive
1 Bottle of Lucas Transmission additive
1 Can of Spray Carb. Spray
1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, I use Bosch Platium Plus 4's
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires
1 Serpentine belt
2 Bottles of SeaFoam gas additive
1 T/Stat

60,000 Mile Service or Major Service for High Mileage Used Vehicle just purchased

Bleed the brakes
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Change the coolant and t/stat
Do an engine flush before changing the oil
Do an induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both of the diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Do full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.

13 around town is normal, you can get 18+ on the expressway. ShellWILL get you better MPG, it might take a tank or two, but it will.
Just make sure that your tires are at the proper PSI, airfilter is clean, windows rolled up, no roof rack, no extra weight, a light foot and cruise control.
On the expressway set the cruise at 65, when driving in the city put the gear selector in "3", use full synthetic's in everything, injector cleaner in the gas tank at every oil change.
Stay away from the discount gas, if its that or walk, use it, but not all the time.
Good plugs and wires. I cant think of anything else right now.
I have a '97 with over 172k and we get 12-14 in town and 19-21 on the expressway.

Did I hear you guys right that all four O2 sensors are the same? Why have different part numbers in that case?
