The first rear sensor I got literally had 1.5' of wire if that. The 2nd rear sensor I had was long enough to run from the passenger side, to the drivers side, up the frame rail, up into the engine bay, cross the top of the engine and down into the passenger footwell through the firewall. I opted to run it along with the other cabling along the passenger side frame rail. Trimmed off at least 8' of wire doing so.
I'm assuming LR opted to just replace the entire line because of a few connector issues. Those little connectors they use aren't anything special, and getting rid of -all- connectors obviously solves any connectors going bad. If my rear drivers side goes, I'll try the short one and see my success, if not, I'll buy one of the full solder in style again.
On another note... I spent 3.5 hours yesterday on the front left and changed out my wheel bearing. Cleared the codes last night and went to bed. This am - Got up and drove it to work - 52 miles... ZERO ABS LIGHTS!!! Hurraaaaay! Now, I've got a spare front solder in sensor and a plug in style for the rear drivers, if they go! Yay spare parts!
