Default Parts hoarding

I've seen some 03/04 discos on Craigslist lately being parted out (or the whole shebang for 4-5 hundred). Being a new disco owner, I am wondering if there are high failure/hard to find parts that would be worth the time to hoard for later.

The old D2's are getting 'long in the tooth' now and some parts are getting rarer to find.
It pays, where possible, to hoard any mechanical parts plus ECU's and a few switches etc.

Hi there we are new to this forum....My husband wants to get rid of the truck but I won't let him

but here is our experience we(husband and I) have a Land Rover Discovery ll 2002 I went out and purchased another Land Rover Discovery ll 2002 (perfect condition except top of the motor no good) and we had it stored locally at a scrap yard where the man who owns the yard also takes parts (our deal). We paid $1500 cash for the truck so far here is what we have replaced:

Seats (all)
Carpet
Door Panels
Lights (lens were cracked on ours)
Tire Cover
Window/Door Motors
Clips for locks on doors
CD Player
Console
Rubber pieces for front
Mud Flaps
ABS Sensors
Bulbs
Brakes
Cats
Air Box
more to go........

So is it a good investment yes worth every penny and the guy who owns the lot has been taking quarter panels et al. the body on our truck is fine so everyone is Happy!
