If it was leaking from the oil filter or drain plug, then yes

If it stopped leaking then I would check to see if you have any oil left:). As poncho said if you were leaking from the oil filter or the drain plug then it is possible that the leak would have been plugged when you did the change. Also, I have heard that doing an engine flush (I assume you used ATF) will cause the seals to bulge slightly and therefore can plug a minor leak (dont hold me to this because I'm not sure if its true).
I would keep checking it though.......... don't assume that the leak has completely stopped. |

I second the possiblillity of the ATF swelling a seal..

after flushing the engine I assume you changed the oil..that is probably what stopped the leak..new, higher viscosity oil.

Old worn out oil will leak.
If the old filter's rubber gasket was nicked during install then it will leak. The filter did not stop the leak. |
