Price for a parts car???
I looked at this 99' last Sunday and walked away because it was over heating and it's pretty beat up. I got to thinking about it again and wondered if I should make an offer to pick it up as a parts car. It's only 10 minutes away from my house. He still has it advertised, I was thinking of making him a "cheeky" offer.
Is it worth pursuing ??? What would be a good price?
Thanks

She's pretty beat up. I seriously considered it, but a teenage girl has been driving it. Everything that can go bad on these has, plus a couple of years of her driving it have it pretty well ragged out.
It's too bad, the color was really starting to grow on me.

If the price is right ( <$1k) I think it could be worth it. Like others, I think that color rocks- too bad it’s kinda wasted.
The only problem will be the seller. Most folks get them thinking they have something they don’t just because they overpaid for it. A good portion of the time some sucker will come along and give them what they want and even when you point out that in order to fix everything, you’d be into the machine for double what they are asking, you get dismissed. Most ignorant sellers don’t like it when a knowledgeable enthusiast comes along...

I've seen a lot worse for a lot more honestly! Steering wheel is surprising decent, RF is messed up, but that's just body work. Paint is fading, but that is common on pretty much any older LR. It could be HG's or it could be something stupid if they didn't have it diagnosed properly. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger myself tomorrow on a 1K 02 Westminster D2 that isn't running at the moment, and it has either an XYZ switch issue or a transmission issue (I have a spare), overall the interior/exterior is clean, it's got a HD OME lift on it, and a clean TX Blue Title.
Only problem is #1 my wife will probably kill me, and #2 my time has been limited lately. However if I let it go I'll be pissed at myself later!! Just wish I had a friend in Houston that would let me park it there until I could come out and work on it.
You can probably get that D2 for 800.00, but just check the title carefully (learned my lesson on my last cheap D2......). Everyone says that color is rare, but I've honestly seen a lot of them here in TX. I do like it though.
