Default Purging the Air

Does anyone "burp" the D2 cooling system like this guy does at 9:50? I have always done mine by releasing the bleed screw at operating temp, but I don't know if this may work better or if it's just foolish.

I do. I said that. My question is how many of the veterans here do what this guy in the video does.

x2 on the video. and some clarification. is looks like you're saying you release the bleed screw at operating temp. the procedure is to open it stone cold and raise the expansion tank. I also do some burping, not sure if it helps but it doesn't seem to hurt.

stupid attachment. I see now. ok I will probably never find it again. but in short, the guy let it warm up to operating temp with the cap off the reservoir. a mechanic. says he has good luck, the only way he knows how to do it. I was saying personally, I fill it up when cold, out of the bleed screw. Then when I start it and get it up to temperature, I will then loosen off on the same bleed screw to purge air. I have never tried it with the reservoir cap off and was curious if other long-time owners ever burp it this way. sorry about the link.

Default SOPS/Methods/Suggestions

As many have said, there's more than one way to skin a cat. The end result, doing so safely without doing damage to the vehicle should be the goal.

Running & warming system with cap off is recommended by the D1 manual procedure and there were no material changes to the system. Likely the manual for D2 was changed because of engine damage done by a minority of dumbass dealer techs failing to monitor temps during the D1 and prior procedures.
